WELSH blues maestro Troy Redfern brings his band to West Cumbria for a live performance in Maryport.

The show at the Navy Club, on Sunday May 7, wraps up their spring UK tour, which got under way at the start of April at the Bowness Bay Blues festival.

Since then, they have featured at the Hard Rock Hell Blues Festival in Sheffield, and had a song from their brand new album, Dirt Blues Ritual, played on the Paul Jones Blues Show on BBC Radio 2.

Virtuoso guitarist Redfern is a passionate, intense, free spirited indie blues artist whose ferocious slide guitar style twists and turns timeless themes and ideas.

Leading his power trio with style and gusto, songs range from a whisper to a scream. Drum duties are taken care of by Alex Bridge, a touring drummer with a series of indie bands, with experienced bassist Stjohn Milinczuk completing the line-up.

Having been invited to play the prestigious Telegraph Hay Festival and winning over a large and critical audience, the band set out touring the UK and headed out to Europe, landing shows supporting The Nimmo Brothers, Skinny Molly, Dr. Feelgood, Bad Company’s Mick Ralphs, Thin Lizzy’s Eric Belle, Cyril Neville’s Royal Southern Brotherhood and many more.

In 2015, Troy signed with the award-winning Blues Boulevard label and cut his debut album, Backdoor Hoodoo, which brought him to the greater attention of European blues fans.

This February's follow-up record has been equally well-received by the blues music press and will feature heavily in his Maryport set.

The show on Sunday May 7 starts at 4pm.
