The Voice finalist Sally Barker will lead the line-up at a festive event in Workington later this year.

Sally Barker, who also fronts all-female supergroup The Poozies, appears at the Theatre Royal over three performances in December, alongside home town performer Billy Walker and Arron Bell as Elvis.

As a singer, songwriter, guitarist and producer, Sally has had a long and varied career in music. Labelled a folk artist for much of that time, her appeal stretches across many more musical genres.

After she won the Kendal Songsearch Competition in 1986, she began touring in a support capacity to acts such as Fairport Convention, Taj Mahal and Richard Thompson, releasing her self-titled debut album in 1988, which led to great success on mainland Europe.

Alongside her solo work, she also formed and fronted The Poozies throughout the early '90s, returning to the band for sporadic appearances since 2007.

In January 2014, she appeared on the BBC One talent contest The Voice, joining Tom Jones' team after a blind audition in which she sang Don't Let Me Be Misunderstood, endearing herself to a wider audience than ever before.

In the final that April, she sang Joni Mitchell's Both Sides, Now and duetted with Tom Jones on Walking in Memphis, eventually finishing runner-up to Jermain Jackman.

Since her appearance on the Voice, Sally's back catalogue has seen a resurgence in sales, and her album Another Train featured in the official indie charts.

Now based in Los Angeles, Billy Walker will be making a rare local appearance in this show, in support of cancer and Alzheimer's charities.

Arron Bell will be performing his set of "The King's" biggest classics to complete the bill.

The show takes place at the Theatre Royal on Friday December 29 and Saturday 30 - at 7pm both nights - with a matinee performance on the Saturday.

Tickets priced £10 are available from the venue now, with proceeds from the show being donated to charity.
