Cumbria police charge man with murder


A man has been charged with murder following the death of a west Cumbrian man.

Sean Morrin, 32, of Nelson Street, Maryport, has been charged with the murder of William Richardson, 34.

Morrin has been remanded in police custody to appear before the magistrates' court in Workington tomorrow.

Mr Richardson, of Elizabeth Terrace, Maryport, suffered fatal injuries following an alleged assault in the early hours of Tuesday morning on Senhouse Street in Maryport.

He died the following day in the Cumberland Infirmary in Carlisle.

Police have urged anyone with information about the incident to call them on 101.
