A man has been banned from driving for more than three years after getting behind the wheel while nearly twice the drink-drive limit.
Kristian Jo Thomas, 23, of Casson Road, Workington, appeared before District Judge Gerald Chalk at West Cumbria Magistrates Court.
The court heard he had driven a BMW on Harrington Road, Workington, on August 31 with 65mcg of alcohol in 100ml of breath. The legal limit is 35mcg.
Judge Chalk was told that there was no insurance in force at the time.
Thomas was handed a 40-month driving ban and and fined £1,100.
He must also pay £85 costs and a £65 surcharge.
