Police and paramedics were called to Workington Bus Station to help a man who was in difficulty and had suffered a head injury.
The man, in his 50s, was experiencing chest pains and was taken to hospital to be checked over.
After enquiries, it was established that he had suffered the cut to his head the previous night after falling in Vulcan Park, and had been treated for it then.
Two police vans and an ambulance attended the bus station around 9.10pm yesterday (July 1).
