Jasmine Green, 15, of Cockermouth, starred in the film which is about young teenagers using social media.

Jasmine is a pupil at Stagecoach Theatre School, which has classes in Carlisle and Cockermouth.

Naomi Bewsher, principal of Stagecoach Carlisle and Cockermouth, said: "The film is about going online for the first time and how, without education, they may be at risk of being groomed online or victims of sexting.

"I was delighted that ITV, who run Fixers, contacted Stagecoach to provide an actress.

"It is such a great opportunity and valuable experience for our students to work within this genre."

Filming took place at Brathay Hall in Ambleside on Tuesday.

The sequence Jasmine starred in required her to scroll through a mobile phone, look at text messages and social media sites like Facebook and Instagram.

The filming took about an hour.

Jasmine said: "Both were really great and I enjoyed the experience a lot.

"It's amazing how much preparation and time goes into making such a short documentary, imagine making a full movie.

"I've never done anything like this before but found it very enjoyable and I can't wait to see the end product."

Fixers are young people who use their past to fix the future.

A spokesman for ITV Fixers said: "They are motivated by personal experience to make positive change for themselves and those around them.

"Fixers are motivated by a desire to act on an issue that is important to them or a strong desire to help other people.

"They also have a voice that they want to be heard, whether that’s on eating disorders, drugs, offending, cyberbullying or any other issue that is concerning them.

Meg Postlethwaite, 17, of Carlisle, appeared in an ITV Fixers film last month.

She was filmed stacking and tidying shelves at the Foreways convenience store on Warwick Road.
