The Annual Great Clifton Flower and Crafts Show was back to its best in its 49th year.

The event was held in the village hall on William Street and classes included flower and vegetable entries for adults and children, with numbers up on recent years as 15 adults and 19 children entered.

Eva Ackerlay, show secretary, said: "It was very good this year, a lovely day with a lot of people there.

"It was better supported this year than normally after it had seemed to be going down a little.

"We had some new people in that hadn't been before which might have helped."

Trophies were presented by Malcolm Fee, chairman of the parish council.
