Fundraisers will be heading off this weekend to tackle Ben Nevis in aid of West Cumbrian charities.

Together We Can Fundraising will be aiming to raise cash for Rosehill Youth Theatre, Calderwood House and Safety Net. They have currently collected around £13,500.

Those taking part in the trek are Brian Maudling, Julieanne Kelly, Sharon Crellan, Joy Nelson, Angela Richardson, Ade Kevern and Ian Watson.

Julieanne thanked Reays who donated an eight-seater bus to take the group to Fort William.

She said: "We would like to say a huge big thank you to Reays for coming forward and supporting us with a mini bus.

"It means that we can give more money to our chosen charities and that we can all travel together as we head of for our challenge. The staff have been amazing. Thank you to everyone involved at the head office."

Rosie Groves, marketing and sales assistant at Reays, said: "We are a family-run company very much involved in the West Cumbrian community, so we are delighted to be able to help by providing free transport.

"I understand that it would have cost them up to £800 and that sum of money would have had to have come out of their fund-raising total."

Together We Can Fundraising was set up last year by consultant Julieanne aiming to bring various causes together to learn from one another.

Meetings cover topics such as fundraising practice, trust fundraising, community fundraising, events, sponsorship and gift aid.
