A listed building in Maryport has been gutted by fire.
Firefighters were called to Ewanrigg Hall at 9.35pm yesterday.
The house was well ablaze when crews arrived and the fire was spreading.
Four fire engines and an aerial ladder attended.
The fire spread from the ground floor to the roof.
Firefighters were still in attendance this morning dealing with hot spots.
A spokesman said nobody was in the house and there was no threat to adjoining properties.
The cause of the blaze is not yet known.
Ewanrigg Hall has been empty for around three years.
It is on the site of a former farm.
Earlier this year plans were submitted to build 124 houses on the farm site and restore the hall.
