THE show will go on for Aspatria Music Festival, despite the news that headliners Scouting For Girls will be without their bassist.

Greg Churchouse broke his shoulder over the weekend, ruling him out of playing any gigs, but the band's management has pledged a replacement bassist will be brought to Aspatria.

Colin Rumney, a member of the organising committee, said: "It was a bit of a heart in your mouth moment when we heard he was injured - there's been a great deal of anticipation for Scouting For Girls playing Aspatria and we feared that we'd have to find a replacement headline act, with just 17 days to go until the event.

"So there was a lot of relief when their management got in touch and said they would still be playing."

Scouting For Girls are celebrating the 10th anniversary of the release of their debut self-titled album this year and are among dozens of acts playing Aspatria's Bower Park from July 14 to July 16.

Dr and the Medics, Marquis Drive, Zen, Prowles, Colt 45, 3 River City, Heartbreak Remedy, Audio Club and Water's Edge also feature on the bill.
