Packhorse Bridge at Watendlath has been named the fourth best bridge in the country to play Poohsticks from.

The bridge, north of Watendlath Tarn, has been recommended by VisitEngland in a top 12 list to mark the release of The Poohsticks Handbook: A Poohstickopedia.

It ranks below Sheepwash Bridge at Ashford in the Water, Derbyshire in first place, Morden Hall Park, London in second and Heale Gardens, Salisbury, Wiltshire in third.

Also making the list were Mottisfont, Romsey, Hampshire in fifth, Little Wittenham Bridge, Abingdon, Oxfordshire sixth, Mathematical Bridge, Cambridge seventh, New Lower Bridge, Boscastle, Cornwall eigth, Bridge over Bourne Eau, Bourne, Lincolnshire ninth, Cantlop Bridge, Shrewsbury, Shropshire 10th, Essex Bridge, Shugborough, Staffordshire 11th and Hutton-le-Hole, Ryedale, North Yorkshire in 12th.

The bridges were judged against set criteria for playing Poohsticks.
