Liz Richardson is set to tour her one-woman, anecdotal stage show this autumn.

She will bring her show, Gutted, to Rosehill Theatre in Whitehaven on November 3.

The play chronicles Liz’s real-life battle with ulcerative colitis. She attempts to raise awareness about the condition through comedy.

Much of the show is based on her first-hand stories during her time at the West Cumberland Hospital in Whitehaven. Her time in hospital inspired Liz to deliver laughter to those in the same position, and she has performed to wards in hospitals.

Liz has a wealth of acting experience. The Beckermet-born actress played Lady Macbeth in a 2005 adaptation of the Scottish play as well as the titular role of Lulu in 2001. She is also stage school trained and has appeared at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.

Gutted promises “a shameless show about love, laughter and loos”.

Tickets are still available from the Rosehill Theatre website.
