A man has been found not guilty of involvement in violence which flared outside a Workington social club.
It had been alleged 20-year-old Scott Hannon took part in an incident on the night of November 12 last year. This occurred outside the Trades Hall, Brow Top and involved a number of men.
Three of them, a jury at Carlisle Crown Court heard, had already admitted their involvement and pleaded guilty to an affray charge.
Jurors were told a "mass brawl" erupted, with one man being attacked and left in a coma with brain injuries.
Mr Hannon, too, was charged with affray but maintained all along he did nothing wrong.
When asked while giving evidence during his trial whether he was involved in the incident at all, Mr Hannon, of Workington, replied: "Definitely not."
After listening to all the evidence in the case, jurors unanimously found Mr Hannon not guilty of the charge.
