A man has been taken into police custody following a lake rescue in the early hours.
Police and Patterdale mountain rescue team were initially called to find a boat on Ullswater with four people on board at 1.45am today.
Belfast Coastguard were alerted and called on a team from Maryport to help locate the boat.
It followed reports that two adults, who were reportedly drunk and arguing following a drinking session at a local hotel, were in charge of two children.
The vessel was eventually found at Ullswater Sailing Club. Everyone was safe.
The search and rescue operation lasted around two hours.
