TWO men have appeared in court accused of stealing scaffolding wagons totalling £80,000 from a Workington firm.

Elijah Boswell, 30, of Smithies Lane, Barnsley, and Gary McDonald, 20, of Bankside Close, Sowerby, Thirsk, have been jointly charged with stealing three scaffolding wagons from Paton Brothers compound on October 24 last year.

They appeared before magistrates at West Cumbria Magistrates Court today (Friday) and did not enter any pleas.

The case has been sent to Carlisle Crown Court where it will be heard on November 27.
