A Monster Mash event will be held at Dunmail Park in Workington on Saturday, October 27.

Between 11am and 3pm, shopping centre visitors will be able to get up close to some real creepy crawlies, including giant millipedes, scorpions, cockroaches, giant land snails, snakes and lizards, with an interactive workshop.

Children over the age of four can make their own gooey stuff with a slime workshop, and the under fours can create monsters out of Play-Doh to take them home.

There will also be a ghost hunt around the shopping centre in which visitors will have the chance to win a sweet treat.

The event will also feature a craft table where children can make hats and masks, and wrap each other up like a mummy.

There will be music fun and games, including a zombie dance competition, with CFM.

Donald Dixon, managing director of J Dixon & Son Ltd, which owns Dunmail Park, said: "Halloween is always a fun time of year and we look forward to seeing the local community at our Monster Mash party. Children are encouraged to come in their spookiest costumes.

"The free entertainment provides a wonderful opportunity for families to enjoy a variety of activities at the end of the school half term."
