POLICE have released an image showing the damage caused to a car in a collision on the M6 motorway this morning.
The crash was reported at around 7.30am this morning between junctions 35 and 34 on the southbound carriageway.
The motorway was closed at Junction 36 while highways engineers cleared the carriageway.
Traffic was held at a standstill while police attempted to divert vehicles off the motorway and the road was reopened by around 9.10am.
Lancashire's Roads Policing Unit released an image of the damaged car and added that the driver "thankfully" only suffered minor injuries.
