An Alsatian dog attacked a council officer at a nature reserve near Workington, police said.
Officers are appealing for information following an incident at Harrington Nature Reserve, which happened on Friday, October 5, at about 3.25pm.
The dog was black and it's owner was a woman in her 50s.
Cumbria police are asking anyone with information or the dog owner herself to get in touch on 101.
They are also reminding dog owners to keep their dogs under control.
