Amateur paddlers will take to Derwentwater tomorrow, September 22, to raise thousands of pounds for charity.
The annual Derwentwater Tiger Boat Challenge will see 10 teams battle it out in a round robin contest to be crowned the winner.
And song of the 10-strong teams will done weird and wonderful outfits in a bid to pick up the prize for best fancy dress.
The event is organised by the Rotary Clubs of Bassenthwaite and Workington Derwent, and takes place at Derwent Water Marina.
Some of those taking part will be seasoned competitors, while others are new faces.
The first race will begin at 10am, with a break for lunch around noon and the last race at about 3pm.
There will be a barbecue, tea and coffee stall and a bar.
Joint organiser Alan Urquhart said the organisers had been keeping an eye on the weather after Cumbria was hit by Storm Ali on Wednesday.
He said: "Tomorrow looks absolutely spot on, remarkably. It's looking like the only decent day this week."
