A careers day at Keswick School inspired lots of pupils.

One hundred and eighty Year 11 students enjoyed a range of activities, including Meet the Employer, Mock Interviews and Post-16 Options.

Twenty seven local businesses from a variety of sectors met with students in a speed-dating type arrangement.

Pupils also took part in a 25-minute mock interview complete with CV and feedback, organised by Inspira.

Head of Careers Mel Avery said: "We'd like to thank all the local employers and businesses who gave up their valuable time to come and talk to our students.

"The students themselves loved it, especially the Meet the Employer and Mock Interview sessions, although they were very nervous before the latter.

"It was a great opportunity for the students to get first-hand experience about life post-16 from people in the real world of work, and gave them a real incentive to knuckle down for the final year of GCSEs."
