STONE Roses tribute band Resurrection will be coming to West Cumbria this March for a headline appearance.

The long-running live act arrives at Thirty Two, in Workington, on Friday March 10.

Rated among the very best send-ups of the "Madchester" legends, they returned to touring in 2014 after a long break, and re-established themselves on the scene.

They count the original band among their fans, with Stone Roses bassist Mani claiming that the group "do the songs justice and sound better than we did before the split".

Resurrection originally formed in Scotland in 1998, under the name The Complete Stone Roses - which they changed in 2001 - and the group regularly toured with Mani, and other Manchester acts, such as Clint Boon and Tom Hingley.

With years of sold-out shows behind them, spanning across the UK and Ireland, their biggest show came at Dublin's Point Theatre, playing to a 6,500 capacity crowd.

Known for their carefully chosen set-lists, the group are as likely to play an obscure Stone Roses B-side as they are a hit, putting on a show to please the most dedicated of fans.

The professional four-piece will take on the greatest hits, including She Bangs The Drums, Fools Gold, Waterfall, I Wanna Be Adored and Love Spreads, among many more album tracks from the back catalogue.

Support on the night comes from Whitehaven-based indie rock act Springfield - a new name to look out for, having previously performed as The Scene. They have original tracks as well as covers from acts such as The Undertones and Catfish and the Bottlemen in their set.

The show at Thirty Two on Friday March 10 gets under way at 8pm, and tickets are available in advance from skiddle.com
