The UK's best-known stage medium Derek Acorah will be returning to Workington in November.

Out on the road as part of his Soul Reunion tour, he calls in at the Carnegie Theatre on Thursday November 24, having performed his Psychic Ether show at the venue last winter.

One of the foremost names in the world of psychic phenomena, he is a celebrity, author and showman.

With an appeal that crosses the generations to young and old alike, he consistently packs out venues across the UK.

Acorah rose to prominence in the early 2000s, when he appeared as a self-described spirit medium on the paranormal reality TV show Most Haunted. He became notorious for regularly being "possessed" by the ghosts he and co-presenter Yvette Fielding encountered.

Following his exit from Most Haunted in 2005, he went on to appear in an extremely controversial televised, live seance in 2009, which attempted to contact the then recently deceased Michael Jackson.

Despite this, Acorah remains one of the most well known ghost hunters in the UK, writing a number of books about the subject, and appearing on a string of TV shows over the years, including Ghost Towns, Celebrity Juice and The Weakest Link.

The show in Workington is the penultimate night of the run, and it is stressed that evenings of mediumship are not scientifically proven.

Tickets are available from the Carnegie Theatre box office.
