THE Wonder Stuff's Miles Hunt is joined by his long-time collaborator Erica Nockalls for a nationwide tour this autumn.

Joining them for some of the dates - including an appearance at Workington's Carnegie Theatre - will be Miles' cousin, Will Hunt.

The show on Sunday September 10 coincides with the new album, We Came Here To Work, which is released the day before the Cumbria show.

It is the third studio effort by Miles and Erica. Having celebrated The Wonder Stuff’s 30th anniversary in 2016 with a new album and an extensive touring schedule, the duo decided to head into calmer waters at the beginning of this year by returning to their acoustic project.

When asked about the release of a third Hunt/Nockalls album, Miles said: "As much as I love rockin’ out with the band there is a side to me that enjoys a more relaxed approach to making music. Erica and I have been touring as an acoustic duo for 10 years now and we thought it was about time we added some new material to our acoustic arsenal.

“The music that The Wonder Stuff make is for nights out with your friends, what Erica and I have hopefully done with We Came Here To Work is made music for nights spent at home in more genteel company.”

Peppered with Hunt’s trademark acerbic lyrics and Nockalls’ pleasingly angular string arrangements, it is a stark and reflective piece of work.

Will Hunt, aside from being Miles' cousin, is also the son of former ELO and Wizzard member Bill Hunt. The singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist has recently released his debut mini-album, Momentary Romance, having spent much of his career performing under the name Dansette Junior and playing various festivals around the world, as well as writing songs for other people.

Starting his career in North London, he has shared the stage with the likes of Paul Carrack, Nick Mulvey, and Ed Sheeran, and has dipped his toe in various productions and bands ever since.

The tour comes to the Carnegie Theatre on September 10, and tickets are available from the venue's box office.
