A Cockermouth shoplifter has been jailed after breaching a court order.
Jamie Lee Lowther Barton, 28, of Kirkfell Avenue, appeared at West Cumbria Magistrates Court in Workington.
He admitted entering the Co-op in Cockermouth on February 15, which is part of the Shop Watch scheme, while banned under a criminal behaviour order.
The order had been imposed on January 29 after Barton had admitted three counts of shoplifting. They were stealing a teddy bear worth £3.99 from Home Bargains in Workington on January 19, stealing four cans or lager worth £7.98 from One Stop in Cockermouth on January 21 and stealing a can of cider worth £1.99 from the One Stop shop the following day.
He was given a 42-day suspended sentence for those crimes, which was activated by magistrates at his latest hearing.
He was jailed for a further seven days for the breach and told to pay a £115 surcharge.
