Founding frontman of British indie favourites The Bluetones, Mark Morriss, will be playing solo at the Rosehill Theatre.

This run of solo dates comes ahead of a nationwide tour with the band, and will see him performing stripped-back versions of the tracks he has penned over the past two decades.


Icons of the 80s at Sands Centre, Carlisle - Saturday 17

Some of the biggest British pop stars of yesteryear come together in a live tour, calling at the Sands Centre.

Icons of the 80s will see Go West, Nik Kershaw and Cutting Crew together in one unique concert going on a nostalgic trip back to pop's heyday.


Jamie Duggan at Cloud Nine, Barrow - Saturday 17

DJ Jamie Duggan leads a bass and house night in Barrow this weekend.

Over the past 10 years, he has produced official remixes for massive artists such as Rihanna, Pussycat Dolls and Wiley, and has also signed up with Ministry of Sound record label, going on to record an album, The Sound Of Bassline, which went on to sell 150,000 copies as well as landing a number two spot in the UK dance chart.


Water's Edge at Melmerby Village Hall - Saturday 17

Much-loved Lakes live band Water's Edge have an intimate gig at Melmerby Village Hall, performing a set of their self-penned folk, rock and pop tunes.

Original members and songwriters, lead singer and guitarist Lee Hawker and drummer Richard Burford, are now joined by lead guitarist Stuart Sidney and keyboardist-violinist Shelagh Hughes.


Mythra and Hammerhead at Carnegie Theatre, Workington - Saturday 17

North East rock band Mythra will be joined by local legends Hammerhead for a New Wave of British Heavy Metal showcase.

Mythra were influenced by many of the first generation of heavy rock groups at the tail end of the 1970s, drawing comparisons to the likes of Black Sabbath, UFO, Judas Priest and Scorpions. Hammerhead were founded around the same time, and have become regular inclusions on rock and metal festival bills for the past 13 years.


Hadrian's Union at Old Fire Station, Carlisle - Saturday 17

Cumbrian folk frontrunners Hadrian's Union have a headline appearance in Carlisle.

Since returning to action two years ago, the band have appeared at Cumbrian festival Music on the Marr twice, as well as the Stepping Stones festival, and released their latest studio album together, Aural Borderalis, last year.


Elaine Davidson at Florence Arts Centre, Egremont - Sunday 18

Renowned Cumbrian folk singer-songwriter Elaine Davidson plays a solo show in Egremont, performing traditional classics and new album material at the concert, packed full of original songs and exceptional musicianship.

Inspired by artists such as Joan Armatrading, she is known for combining sounds of the banjo, Appalachian fiddle and acoustic guitar.
