Police were called after two crashes within three miles of each other in just 20 minutes.
Officers were called to a two-car collision on the A66 at the Broughton/Brigham junction at 3.50pm yesterday.
The crash involved a red Kia Picanto and a silver Peugeot 307. Nobody was hurt.
Around 4.10pm a second collision happened at nearby Chapel Brow roundabout, where the A66 meets the A595, involving a blue Mini Cooper and a red Ford Focus.
The Mini driver, a 47-year-old Cockermouth woman, suffered minor injuries.
