Festival favourites and one-time CockRock headliners Boomin are back in the region for a live show on Friday January 27.

The Wigan-based trio were once again among the highlights at Cumbrian events such as Aspatria Music Festival and Glassonbury in 2016, having been regular visitors to the county over the past five years.

They appear at Workington bar Thirty Two, in Wilson Street, playing from their extensive repertoire of covers and originals.

Since forming, Adam, Edd and Rory have picked up a strong following in the North West as a highly-regarded party band, and have landed some major shows to date.

They have played support to acts such as The Script, N-Dubz, Craig David, Pixie Lott and Scouting For Girls, and an appearance in the McFly Battle of the Bands in 2013 led to them supporting the chart-toppers for a show in Stoke. They have even collaborated with Newton Faulkner on an original track.

In the same year, they finished 12th out of 12,000 bands worldwide in the Hard Rock Rising competition, coming first in the North West and North England category.

Known for their distinctive cover versions of pop and rock hits - as well as their trademark Grease mega mix - their self-penned material has also been a big part of their success, with their debut album, Original Junkie, went into the iTunes Rock chart at number 22.

Despite being based in Lancashire, they have managed to build a fanbase in Cumbria too, previously being asked to play at Cockermouth's Christmas lights switch-on.

They are back in Workington for a headline set of their own on Friday January 27, and the show gets under way at 9pm. Entrance is payable on the door.
