MOUNTAIN rescuers stretchered a woman from a Lake District fell who had injured her leg.
Cockermouth Mountain Rescue Team were called out at 9.45am yesterday to Gamlin End, Buttermere, where the 49-year-old has slipped on the path.
Team members - 14 in total - treated the casualty at the scene, administering pain relief and splinted her injured leg.
She was stretchered down to Warnscale Bottom and transferred by Land Rover to the ambulance at Gatesgarth which took her to the West Cumberland Hospital in Whitehaven for treatment.
The woman was with a training group from Bolton who had camped overnight on the ridge and were making their way back to Gatesgarth Farm.
