Bev Crosby and Christine McCutcheon found inspiration from their experience as midwives and decided to offer a service which would make new mothers and women feel better about themselves.

West Lakeland Medical Group provides leading non-surgical treatments from Botox and wrinkle relaxing injections to dermal fillers and micro-dermabrasion.

The new business venture is based in Workington's Ann Burrow Thomas Health Centre, but satellite clinics also in beauty salons in West Cumbria.

The three-strong team, including Dr Phil Crosby, have extensive medical backgrounds.

Along with years of nursing and midwifery experience, both Bev and Christine have studied Botox and Restylane treatments for over two years.

Bev said: “We offer a service to help women feel better about themselves; it’s something that complements the midwifery.

"Our range of treatments are particularly broad and are continually expanding to meet the needs and demands of our customers.

"We mostly offer modern methods of dealing with the effects of ageing but we can also provide sport injury assessments and minor surgical procedures for the removal of cysts, skin tags and moles."

West Lakeland Medical Group has begun hosting launch evenings for parties of more than 10 people where the team take the chance to demonstrate the range of treatments.

“People like to see the procedures demonstrated so the launch evenings we have had so far have proved to be popular," said Christine.

“The success of West Lakeland Medical Group, so early on, has been a great boost for us as the business has been created via word-of-mouth.

“And with that in mind we will definitely be looking to expand in the future."
