Peggy Bradshaw, 49, of Bellbrigg Lonning, Cockermouth, has set up Jordan’s Jungle Fun House on Lorton Street.

She said: “I have always wanted to run my own cafe, and so I am enjoying the experience at the moment.

“When the building came on the market my brother suggested that I should think about opening it as a cafe and play area and it has just gone on from there really.

“We have been working quite hard since about Easter to get everything ready.

“It is quite a family orientated business, as we have named the fun house after my son, Jordan, who is eight, we have my two daughters working here and my husband Alan is heavily involved with the business.

“My brother, Peter Skillen, has done a really good job with all the paintings on the walls as well.”

The fun house is for children under 12, who must be accompanied by an adult, and Mrs Bradshaw has also set up a parent and toddler group, which will start after the school holidays.
