LOWER prices at the pumps are being passed on to motorists in West Cumbria.
For the first time this year, the price of unleaded petrol has fallen below £1 a litre.
Morrisons was one of the major supermarkets to announce price cuts this week, and yesterday the Workington branch was charging 99.9 pence for a litre of unleaded.
Our survey yesterday revealed these prices:
Morrisons, Workington: unleaded 99.9; diesel 111.9.
Texaco, Lennon’s, Oxford Street, Workington: unleaded 110.9; diesel 120.9.
Texaco, Siddick: unleaded 108.9; diesel 119.9.
BP, Dunmail Park, Workington: unleaded 103.9; diesel 116.9.
The drop in prices is related to the price of crude oil, which has halved in the last three months.
