Bryony Miller set up Elements Health and Beauty on Station Street in 1998.
Bryony, who also taught beauty therapy for 10 years at Lakes College, Lillyhall until 2012, has now decided to cut back on her workload.
Her three therapists, Julie Kitching, Abbie Moore and Jess Roberts, have found new jobs.
Bryony, of Castlegate Drive, said: “I shall be 50 next year and felt it was time to scale down and not have the pressure of running a business. I’d also like to spend more time with my family.”
Bryony is married to Glen and has a daughter, Gemma, 22.
She will work three days a week at the town’s Strawberry How Clinic.
“I have had the salon for 18 years and been lucky. I have had many fantastic clients over the years and had a lot of support from people in the town,” she said.
