Cockermouth's only filling station is due to open next week, following a £1.5 million redevelopment.
Oakhurst Service Station has been closed for more than 12 weeks, leaving residents facing a 13-mile round trip to the nearest petrol station, Essex Garage in Dearham.
Oakhurst is owned by Euro Garages. Ilyas Munshi, commercial director, confirmed this week that the filling station and shops are due to open next week. The coffee shop drive through will open next month.
"The date pencilled for soft-launch opening is Thursday, April 28. Customers will be able to access ESSO branded fuel, SPAR convenience store along with the Subway and Greggs food-to-go," said Mr Munshi.
"The Starbucks drive-through will open for trade next month. We look forward to welcoming customers to the new site facilities and will undertake an official opening once the full site is operational."
