A cookery school is relocating to Keswick.

Peter Sidwell’s Simply Good Cookery School has been based at Rheged, near Penrith, for two years but the Brigham chef will move it early next month.

Mr Sidwell, a judge on ITV’s Britain’s Best Bakery show, also runs an online TV food channel and the new premises at Sunset Hill will include a studio kitchen, allowing him to bring the businesses under one roof.

There are plans to hold cookery weekends and to invite members of the public to hold their own events.

Mr Sidwell said: “This is a blank canvas. We’ve run it for two years and we know what people are looking for.

“I’m really excited. It’s a wonderful opportunity and it’s going to be great.

“We want people to be able to use the cookery school and run their own events and people to come in and use it for what they want to use it for.”

The first cookery course is due to take place early next month.
