A new health, fitness, nutritional training and education centre is due to open next month.

QPT Training and Nutrition will launch Eat Train Live in the Lillyhall Business Centre on Jubilee Road.

Michael Quirk, 27, of Infirmary Road, Workington, runs the company with his partner Carla Sorensen, 32.

Plans for the centre were unanimously approved at by Allerdale council's development panel last month.

Michael said: "It's been a long process to get the planning through and getting everything in place.

"It feels good getting the paint on the walls and seeing the equipment coming through.

"I'm getting excited about opening up."

Clients will be able to attend one-to-one personal training sessions, get nutritional advice and go to workshops and seminars on to live healthily.

The centre will be open six days a week and the business hopes to create some jobs.

Michael is also hoping to get The Voice star Jolan to perform at the centre's opening day.
