A Maryport business will get national exposure next week when it features on a BBC TV programme.

Wild and Fruitful, award-winning makers of preserves, moved to Maryport from Wigton about a year ago to find larger premises on the Solway Industrial Estate.

Director Rob Rimmer said they received a call from the team of the Back to the Country programme, presented by Spring Watch ’s Kate Humble and by Geetie Singh-Watson.

The series champions the UK’s most inspirational entrepreneurs and the grit and determination it takes to make it through the business year.

Wild and Fruitful started in the kitchen of Jane Maggs’ Wigton home over a decade ago and grew so much her kitchen table was no longer big enough, prompting the move to a Maryport industrial estate.

Back to the Land is on BBC 2 at 8pm on Tuesday.
