Top Class Barbers has taken over the premises formerly occupied by Workington Music Store on Oxford Street.
Owner Kamaran Shali, 31, of Johnston Street, recently moved to the town.
He used to run a barbers in Coventry.
He said: “The people here are like friends and I like the town and its people.
“I’ve got off to a good start and it’s good to have a business here.”
- Another new barbers and beauty salon is planned for Workington.
Julie Moore, of Blindcrake, near Cockermouth, has applied to Allerdale council to turn the unit formerly used by Cadas on Peter Street into the salon.
Mrs Moore wants to start using the building from next month. Allerdale council will make a decision soon.
