Just 10 weeks after taking over at The Pheasant Inn in Bassenthwaite, Jonathan Bell has received the accolades for the high standard of food.
Matthew Wylie, who runs The Pheasant, said: “I am delighted that Jonathan has been awarded two rosettes – and after just 10 weeks in post. Everyone here is extremely pleased and it feels fantastic as a business to again be congratulated for the hard work and effort we put into preparing and serving exceptional Cumbrian food.”
The 200-year-old traditional coaching inn is minutes from the shores of Bassenthwaite, and diners can choose between a formal fine dining restaurant and a bistro.
Only 10 per cent of all restaurants receive just one AA rosette.
Two-rosette restaurants serve food where a greater precision is apparent in the cooking and where there has been obvious attention to the sourcing of quality ingredients.
