Plans to turn the former Harrington Infant School building into housing have been approved.
Chris Hall, of Sibson Place, Workington, wants to turn the grade two listed building on Church Road into six houses.
The existing extensions will be demolished and new access, replacement windows and doors and a new boundary wall will be added, as well as a new first floor area.
The building dates back to 1875 and given grade two status in 2003 but has been empty since 2005.
Allerdale council approved the planning application.
