Vodafone has introduced its 4G service to Maryport.

The company said this is part of a multi-billion pound upgrade of its network throughout the country.

Customers will now be offered with a much more reliable mobile data experience, faster data download and upload speeds as well as better video quality on a range of smartphones to fit any budget, a spokesperson said.

Music, sport and TV will also be downloaded faster, whether at home or on the move.

The company also said the arrival of 4G to the area can also help local businesses improve productivity by enabling employees to work

where they want to, when they want to.

In addition, upgrades to 3G will bring stronger voice coverage along with

faster call connection times and great speech quality.

EE introduced 4G to Maryport and Flimby in October last year, after installing an new mast which is also being used b y fellow operator Three.
