Store Twenty One in Workington is set to close.

An exact date for the clothes and homeware shop closure and how many jobs will be lost is unknown.

The shop on Pow Street is one of the firm's 202 stores across the UK.

The company has been experiencing financial difficulties and have tabled a company voluntary agreement, which will see its rent bill slashed and stores close.

AlixPartners is overseeing the agreement and will help the retailer to settle debts with its creditors and put a restructuring plan into action.

Toni Magean, town centre manager, said: "It's a blow to the town, but we can replace it with another store fairly quickly and make sure we still get interest in the town."

Store Twenty One opened its doors in its current form in 2009.

It was previously known as QS, but underwent a revamp in a bid to beat the recession. At that time, it had around nine members of staff.

JJB Sports occupied the unit before QS moved in.
