A SILLOTH man accused of possessing more than 16,000 indecent images of children has had his case adjourned for re-examination of the severity of the photographs.
Peter Martin, 54, of Whinclose Farm, Seaville, faces 14 charges of possessing indecent images of children, and five charges of distributing them.
He appeared before Carlisle magistrates via video link from prison. His case was adjourned until March 20. He did not enter a plea.
Pornographic images are rated from one to five, with five the most indecent. Martin’s charges say he had images ranging from categories one to five, but his solicitor said the category four images could be reduced to one or two.
