Mystery over two vandal attacks on a mum’s car

A MARYPORT woman who had her car vandalised twice says she cannot understand a vendetta against her.
Laura McKnight had paint stripper poured over her Peugeot 307 parked outside her Ellen Villa home between 10pm and midnight on Saturday, causing £1,000 worth of damage.
Her previous car was written off by a similar attack six months ago.
The 21-year-old single mum said she relied on her car to transport her five-week-old son, Daniel, and needed it for her job as a carer for the elderly and disabled.
She said: “The first time I thought it was a case of mistaken identity with the car, but with it happening to me twice with two different cars, I’ve obviously upset somebody but I haven’t got a clue who or why.
“It’s paint stripper or caustic soda on five panels so it’s going to cost a lot to get it repaired.”
She added: “I haven’t got a clue who or why but obviously someone’s wanting revenge for something. They must know me and know I rely on my car for my little boy.”
Anyone with information about the attack should contact Cumbria police on 0845 3300 247.
