Burglars who targeted a Cumbrian jewellery shop in a nighttime raid are being hunted by police.
The criminals had intended to steal gems from the Shipton & Co jewellery shop in Lake Road, Keswick, overnight on Friday but police believe they were disturbed.
They fled empty handed.
A Cumbria police spokeswoman said the burglars gained entry to the shop through an upstairs rear window and were attempting to steal jewellery from a downstairs display without entering the shop floor area.
She added: “They left the premises empty handed and caused £2,000-worth of damage.”
