Cumbria police is on the lookout for new police community support officers.

The constabulary is seeking committed people to take on the uniformed role working alongside police officers in the community.

Chief Superintendent Mark Pannone said: "Police community support officers carry out a vital role in the constabulary.

"It is a uniquely interesting and rewarding position which is well-suited to people who have a genuine interest in working hard to improve the community.

"Ideal applicants will be out-going and able to work closely with police officers and partners to overcome problems.

"It is a challenging role where no two days will ever be the same. But if you are looking for a career change where you can really make a difference, this may well be the job for you."

Police and crime commissioner Peter McCall said: "This is a great opportunity to join as an essential member of the Cumbria police team. We can promise that no two days will be the same and you will be working very closely with the local community making a real difference to their policing issues."
