A Flimby man who amassed a library of illegal images which included babies has been sent to prison.
Police found thousands of still and moving pictures in the possession of Nathan Newman, 40, of Station Road, who had also used a camera to covertly take photographs of youngsters.
Newman was sentenced at Carlisle Crown Court yesterday, having admitted eight charges involved taking indecent photographs of children and a further 12 related to the downloading of illegal images.
Hundreds were classed as category A, the most serious.
Newman also pleaded guilty to an additional charge of voyeurism.
A 30-month jail term was passed by Judge Peter Davies.
Newman was made subject to the strict terms of a sexual harm prevention order and must sign the sex offenders' register indefinitely.
