A man has appeared in court to face five charges including rape after a woman walking a dog was allegedly attacked in Workington.
Jack Ian Walker, 18, of no fixed address, appeared in court at the town this afternoon.
He faces charges of rape, attempted rape, grievous bodily harm and assault against the woman.
He is also charged with assaulting a police officer.
The incident is alleged to have taken place late on Friday evening.

He entered no pleas to the charges and the case was sent to Carlisle Crown Court, where Walker is due to appear on August 15.
He was remanded in custody.
The woman remained in hospital today with serious head injuries.
