A man has been charged in relation to the robbery at Maryport's Post Office on Monday.
Mark Mercer, 47, who is originally from Liverpool but has been living in Workington, was charged with armed robbery.
He has also been charged with three firearms offences, two handbag thefts and handling.
He is due to appear before Carlisle magistrates, held in Crown Court, this morning.
A 24-year-old woman arrested yesterday has been released on bail until Monday, March 14.
