A Maryport man has been jailed for four years for burglary.
Thomas Edward Morton, 38, of no fixed abode in Maryport, was sentenced today at Carlisle Crown Court.
Morton committed a burglary at a property on Coronation Street, Maryport, on March 24.
Detective Constable Julie Robinson, West Cumbria CID, said:
“We are glad that Morton has been sentenced for his crime. He is a prolific burglar with numerous previous offences committed in West Cumbria.
“The victim was absolutely devastated by Morton’s actions and has shown true bravery in helping our investigation. Her strength has enabled us to bring justice.
“Morton now faces deserved time in prison.”
