A Maryport man has been charged with criminal damage, theft and possession of an offensive weapon.
Melvyn Stephenson, 36, of Centenary Close, is due to appear at West Cumbria Magistrates Court on October 12, on three counts of criminal damage and further charges of theft and possession of an offensive weapon.
Police and an ambulance were called to Ennerdale Road in Maryport at 1.15pm on Saturday, September 10 after reports of a machete-wielding man.
